I have started adding gear design to HeeksCAD. I am hoping to design some 3D models of bevel gears, but I have started with spur gears. Bevel gears are a bit complicated.
Gears, to achieve long life, must have at lease Involute Curve contact surfaces at minimum, but must also be designed with the proper backlash tolerances, especially if they are to be used in reversing direction applications.
